- Add all the ingredients except the vanilla to your slow cooker and stir to coat.3 lbs apples, 1 cup brown sugar, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon nutmeg, ⅛ teaspoon cloves, ⅛ teaspoon salt
- Cover and cook on LOW for 10 hours, stirring once or twice if you’re home.
- Once the apples are dark and soft, blend until smooth using an immersion blender (or carefully transfer to a regular blender). Stir in the vanilla afterward — adding it at the end gives a deeper, more aromatic flavor.½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- Let it cool completely before spooning into jars. Store in the fridge for up to two weeks or freeze in cubes or jars for up to six months.
